College union

The College union was inaugurated on 8.9.2010 at the college campus. Every year, the student body is elected to represent the students and carry out various activities. The college elects office bearers to conduct various activities in academic and cultural events. Ms.Shaheen Begum is the President, Ms.Poornima.A.P. and Ms.Deepa Mohan.R are the General Secretary and Cultural Secretary respectively. The Chief Guest Mrs.Regina Joel, Associate Professor of St.Christopher’s College of Education and Dr.Mrs.Lily Thiyanamani Stuart, Principal of Nazareth College of Education for Women, lighted the Candles that represents the College Motto of Truth, Joy and Peace. The Chief guest in her inaugural address pointed the quote “ Be a leader in mind and servant in heart and hands” .

Extra Curricular Activity

* Students are exhibiting their creativity by displaying the useful items , which are made out of waste. The topic given was “ Wealth out of Waste”.

* Pot pointing, glass painting, stitching blouse and skirts etc., are the SUPW activities done periodically.

* Various competitions like Debate, Quiz, Drawing Competitions, Essay and Oratorical Competitions are arranged every year.

Management and Staff

The Secretary of Nazareth Group of Institutions, Mr. A.N.Henry Maris enlightening the Staff and Students teachers on the topic “ The Role of Teachers in the Present Scenario”. He motivated the staff and student teachers on the strategies that can be adopted to help the slow learners in the teaching learning process. Dr.Rev Spurgeon, addressed the students and staff on “Teachers as Role models for students”. He insisted that the teachers should treat the children as their own and reach them to change the society. He also stated that the development of the nation is in the hands of teachers who bring values to the students.

State Level Seminar

The college conducted a State Level Seminar on the topic “Reviewing Teacher Education Curriculum for Emerging Needs” on 9th and 10th December 2010. 26 Teachers Educator, and 20 student teachers from more than 10 colleges participated in the Seminar. Resource experts were invited for the Seminar. They highlighted the topics like Role of ICT, Mentoring Pupils - Teachers’ Strategies, Value Education, New Trends in Teacher Education Curriculum.
